Use Job Toast in Claude and ChatGPT

Job Toast connects to Claude (claude.ai, the desktop and mobile apps, and Claude Code) and to ChatGPT. Once connected, you can ask the assistant to log a job you applied to, update its status, save the answers you gave on an application, or draft a cover letter. It uses your own Job Toast account.

You need a Job Toast account. The free plan works; cover letters on the free plan are limited to 10 a month. Job Toast Pro adds AI interview answer drafts based on your saved job and background.

What the assistant can and cannot do

It can read your work profile, your saved jobs, and your saved application answers.
It can save jobs, change a job status or interview date, add dated notes, save application answers, prepare interview answers, and draft cover letters.
It cannot delete jobs, and it never submits an application on an employer site.
It asks you to approve access on a Job Toast consent screen first, and you can disconnect it at any time.

Prepare for an interview without starting over

Save the job description and add your experience to your Job Toast profile. Then ask Claude to bring up that job and the answers you have already prepared. Your saved prep stays with the job, ready for your next chat or the job’s Prep tab in Job Toast.

Reading and saving prep is free. Job Toast’s AI answer drafting requires Job Toast Pro and uses your existing AI allowance. Check each draft for accuracy and add real examples from your experience before saving it.

Connect Claude

claude.ai and the Claude apps

Open this link to add Job Toast to Claude, or go to Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector and enter https://jobtoast.io/mcp.
Select Add, then Connect.
Sign in to Job Toast if asked, check the access list, and select Approve.
In a chat, open + → Connectors and turn on Job Toast.

On Claude Team and Enterprise plans, an organization Owner adds the connector first. Each person then connects their own Job Toast account.

Claude Code

Run these two commands, then approve access in the browser window that opens:

claude mcp add --transport http -s user jobtoast https://jobtoast.io/mcp
claude mcp login jobtoast

The consent screen says the approval goes back to localhost. That is Claude Code on your computer receiving the sign-in, which is expected.

Connect ChatGPT

In ChatGPT, open the apps directory and search for Job Toast.
Select Connect, sign in to Job Toast, and select Approve.
In a chat, choose Job Toast from the tools menu or mention it in your request.

Tools

The assistant decides which tool to use. Tools marked Change replace a stored value, so the assistant may ask you to confirm before it runs them.

Disconnect

In Job Toast, go to Settings → Connected apps and remove the assistant. This stops its access right away. You can also remove Job Toast from the assistant's own connector or app settings.

Privacy

What the assistant reads from Job Toast goes to its provider (Anthropic for Claude, OpenAI for ChatGPT) and is handled under that provider's terms. See the Job Toast Privacy Policy for the full list of data the assistant can read.
